He was born January 27, 1947 in Rahway, New Jersey to Charles A. and Edith (Davis) O'Key He was a graduate of Brick High School and Monmouth College and worked for American Home Foods and Furman Foods before moving to Cape Coral in 1996. In Florida, he worked primarily in the home building industry, first with his brother, Dennis and most recently with R. Fry Builders. Charlie is survived by his wife, Sandra of Cape Coral, daughter, Kimberly of Enfield, CT, sons Brian (Beth) of Liverpool, NY and Sean (Jodi) of Baldwinsville, NY, three grandsons, Sean, Ryan and Liam, his brother, Dennis (Diane) of Cape Coral and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on July 23rd at St. Katherine Drexel Church in Cape Coral, where Charlie was a Lector for many years. Charlie was a loving husband and devoted father. He lived his life in the way his father taught him, to always leave everything better than he found it. Everyone who knew Charlie is the richer for it. And though our hearts are broken, we know we will be together again.
