Charles "Pete" Montgomery, 88, Englewood, died March 21, 2003. He was born Jan. 4, 1915, in Follansbee, W.Va., and came to Englewood 20 years ago from Parma, Ohio. He was a Navy Seabee during World War II. After 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service, he retired in 1977 as a finance clerk in Cleveland. He was a choir member of Englewood United Methodist Church and a member of Elks Lodge 2378 in Englewood. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruth J.; sons Brian of Xenia, Ohio, and Douglas of Plymouth, Mich.; and four grandsons. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Englewood United Methodist Church Sanctuary. Englewood Community Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge.
