BUCKLAND - Charles H. Johnson, 84, of Clesson Brook Road, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield.Charles was born in Chicago, Ill., on June 10, 1927, the son of Charles W. and Juliet (Baker) Johnson.He married the former Doris Purington on Dec. 7, 1963.Charles was a newspaper delivery man for the Greenfield Recorder for over 30 years, traveling daily throughout the county.He loved to tell stories and be the center of attention. He enjoyed listening to music and keeping up with the latest news on television.Growing up in Chicago, he became a lifelong Cubs fan.Survivors, besides his wife of 48 years, include three sons, Charles N. Johnson of San Francisco, Calif., and twin sons, William C. Johnson of Livermore, Calif., and Brian E. Johnson of Novato, Calif.; two daughters, Renata Johnson of New York City and Rebecca H. Johnson of Twain Harte, Calif., five grandchildren, Addison, Charles, Loralie, Meimi and Emilia, and nieces and nephews.A memorial service will take place Saturday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls.
