MONTGOMERY, MASS. - Charles E. Lee, 86, of Montgomery, Mass., died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, in Naples, Fla. He was born in Barre on April 14, 1922, son of the late Edward and Mary (Keefe) Lee and moved to Montgomery in 1953. Charles was employed as a machinist and was a U.S. Naval WWII veteran. He enjoyed golfing and walking and was an avid sports fan of his New England teams the Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots. He leaves his devoted wife of 56 years, Barbara E. (Washburn) Lee; a son, Jeffrey Lee and his wife Coreen of Chesapeake, Va.; and two daughters, Kathy Scholpp of Montgomery and Carol Holmes of Lumberton, N.C. He also leaves five beloved grandchildren, Joseph Holmes, Gabrielle, Samantha and Connor Lee and Holden Scholpp who will miss him dearly. The funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at 11 a.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church, 60 Broad St., Westfield, Mass. Burial will be in the spring in Center Cemetery in Montgomery. A calling hour will be Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. There will be a luncheon after the service. Charlie was much loved and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield, Mass., is in charge of arrangements.
