MONTGOMERY Charles Donald, Ph.D.,78, of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ formerly of Ridgewood died February 24, 2009. Beloved husband of June (nee Barr) of Ho-Ho-Kus and his former wife Carol Montgomery of Brooklyn, NY. Loving father of Marc Montgomery of New Orleans, LA and Meg Montgomery of Brooklyn, NY; loving stepfather of Fiona McNamara of Mahwah, NJ and Jeremy Miller of Jersey, of the Channel Islands. Dear grandfather of Philip, Ngaio and Jason Miller and Emma ,Eliza and Hannah McNamara. Charles graduated Heidelberg College with a BA degree; Miami University with a MA degree and University of California Berkeley with a Ph.D. He was Dean of Students and then a English teacher at Ridgewood High School for many years before retiring in 1995. He was a member of West Side Presbyterian Church and St. Bartholomew's Church in Ho-Ho-Kus; a member of the Hobbyists and tennis and hiking groups. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 2 PM at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, Ho-Ho-Kus followed by interment in the Memorial Garden and a reception in the Parish Hall.
