Charles A. Williams, 83, Rotonda West, died May 26, 2005. He was born March 12, 1922, in Corry, Pa., and came to the Charlotte County area in 1979 from Chautauqua Lake, N.Y. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Forces as first sergeant in the 7th Airborne Squadron at Guadalcanal, Munda and New Guinea for 29 months. He graduated from Bryant & Stratton Business Institute of Buffalo, N.Y. He was an assistant to the president of Corry Jamestown Corp. and headed the project of building the company's new building as a showroom for Corry Jamestown Steel Office Furniture. He also became vice president of purchasing and treasurer of the board of directors. He was a former member of Rotonda Golf & Country Club. He attended Faith Lutheran Church in Rotonda West. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Helene; a son, C. Andrew of Pittsburgh; daughters Candace W. Xander of Corry, Pa., and Diane Woodill of Lancaster, N.Y.; a brother, Mynferd of Corry, Pa.; sisters Leona Sturgis of Corry, Pa., and Oneita Mosher of Arcadia, Calif.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be later. Lemon Bay Funeral Homes, Englewood Chapel, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church, 551 Rotonda Blvd., Rotonda West, FL 33947.
