Cecile (LaBonte) DuBois, 84, of Plainville, passed away with her family by her side, on Jan. 18, 2013. She now joins her beloved husband of 64 years, Rene "Ernie" DuBois, who predeceased her this past October. Cecile was born in Soldier Pond, Maine, on Sept. 14, 1928, one of seven children to the late Josephel and Gertrude (Daigle) LaBonte. A 1947 graduate of Fort Kent High School, she married her soul mate and best friend, Ernie one year later. They moved to Plainville in 1952, where they raised their family of four, having been predeceased by their 8 month old daughter, Gail. Cecile was employed for a brief time at General Electric, and served as a waitress for the remainder of her working days while she raised her family. A NASCAR enthusiast and Red Sox fan, Cecile, above all, took great pride in her children and grandchildren, and was their number one supporter through all of their life endeavors. A true optimist, she had a love for life. Cecile was always singing and laughing, had an unforgettable smile and never passed up an opportunity to tease those that she loved. A devoted mother and grandmother, she is now at peace with her Ernie, and will be greatly missed.She is survived by her children, Steven and Leslie, of Plainville, Richard and Sheila, of Bristol, Jeffrey and Dawn, of Plainville and Denise Kubala, of Bristol; her grandchildren, Nicole DuBois, Angela, Melissa, and Jason Maloney; her sisters, Jean Manning, of North Carolina and Sylvia Sirois, of Texas; her brother, Paul LaBonte, of New Hartford, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Leo, Gilman, and Pete, and her son-in-law, Jimi Kubala.A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Jan. 23, at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Committal services followed at the State Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown. Bailey Funeral Home, Plainville, was in charge of arrangements.
