Cecile D. Martin 1917 - 2008 BRATTLEBORO Cecile D. Martin, 91, died Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Eden Park Nursing Home. She was born on Oct. 18, 1917, daughter of Eusebe and Ernestine Messier Gibeault in South Troy, Vt. She was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was the family photographer at any event. Cecile will be remembered most for her beautiful crocheting and embroidering. She also loved to cook; her kitchen always smelled like fresh doughnuts, or baked beans. She loved, nature and animals, spending a lot of her time feeding the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks. Mrs. Martin leaves six daughters, Jacqueline Kenny of Winchester, N.H., Donna King of Brattleboro, Andrea Champney, and her husband, Gary, of West Chesterfield, N.H., Sandra Cote, and her husband, Bruce, of Westmoreland, N.H., Pamela Evans, and her husband, Chester of Keene, N.H., and Cheryl LaValley, and her husband, Donald of Brattleboro; a brother, George Gibeault, 22 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Martin; by a daughter, Muriel Taylor; by a grandson, Timothy King, and by a granddaughter, Christine Waite. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Mrs. Martin will be Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the KER WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow at the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Wednesday, from 7 to 9 at the funeral home. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Brattleboro Area Hospice or to the Gathering Place.
