HENDERSON, CECIL DANIEL The death of Cecil Daniel Henderson of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday, October, 5, 2003. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Charles and Idella (Straight) Henderson, the husband of Lena (Vincent) Henderson. Cecil and Veteran of WWII having severed overseas he was decorated with the Oakleaf Pin. He was a resident of Fredericton since 1949 having worked for the Providence of New Brunswick in the Auditor General's Department before his retired in 1986. He was an active member of the Wilmot United Church for the past fifty years having served in offices of the Recording Secretary, Clerk of Sesson, Board of Elders, Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. He was also active in the local Sea Cadet Movement and a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Dr. Collins Branch, Saint John, NB. Survived by his wife Lena, one son, Bev (Cathy) Henderson of Saint John, NB; one daughter, Carolyn (Ron) Blucher of Rothesay, NB; five grandchildren, Jeffry (Stephanie) of Halifax, Andrew Blucher of Calgary, Mark Blucher (Melissa) of Rothesay, Julie Henderson (James Donnely) of New Jersey, and Nathan Henderson of Saint John; one great-grandson, Jack Blucher; one brother, Lloyd (Joyce) of London, ON, two sisters, Dorothy White (Clinton) Regina SK, and Winnifred Roberts of Saint John; one sister and brother in law Eleanor and Gilmour MacKenzie of Fredericton, Predeceased by his parents; one granddaughter, Mary Henderson. A private visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 8th, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in the Sunny Bank Cemetery.
