CECELIA ELIZABETH HODSON BOUCHA Cecelia Elizabeth Hodson Boucha passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000. She was the daughter of Alfred E. Hall of Emo, Ont. and Lily Marie Hurdle of Newbury, Ont. Cecelia was born May 4, 1927 in Emo, Ont. She was 73 years old. Cecelia left behind to mourn three children; Darlyne Kornelson of Selkirk, Man., Kent Hodson (Jackie) of Kenora, and Edward Hodson, also of Kenora. Cecelia also left behind three step-children; Donald Boucha (Linda) of Kenora, Douglas Boucha (Bonnie), also of Kenora, and Marie Andrews (Mark) of Sudbury, Ont. Cecelia also is survived by her sister, Olive Dent of Fort Frances, Ont., and sister, Beatrice Hunter of Calgary; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Cecelia was raised in the Mather District, where she met and married her husband, Lawrence Hodson, in 1946. They farmed together in the area until 1958, when they moved to the Kenora area bush camps. Cecelia was a great help to many people at that time. Cecelia and Lawrence moved to Kenora in 1969 and resided there together until Lawrence died in 1975. Cecelia later met and married Howard Boucha in October, 1977. They were able to retire early and enjoy a happy life together until Howard passed away in 1995. Cecelia always enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends. She was an avid gardener, and always made a point of sharing the harvest with her family and closest friends. She had a very caring nature and extended a helping hand to giving aid to the sick and the injured. Her help and advice were always very much appreciated. A “Celebration of Life” in honour of Cecelia was held Friday, Sept. 22, 2000 from 2-4 p.m. at the Rideout Community Centre. A short memorial service by Captain Val and Gloria Redner of the Salvation Army Church was at 2 p.m., with refreshments and fond memories following. Anyone who knew Cecelia and had the honour of being her friend knew that they were a friend forever.
