Cathy Melinda Henderson, 53, of Pleasantville, N.J., formerly of East Orange, N.J., departed this life on July 18, 2010. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Martin's Home for Service, Inc., 48 Elm St., Montclair, N.J. A funeral service will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church, Conger Street, Bloomfield. Entombment will be in Glendale Cemetery Mausoleum, Bloomfield. Born in Glen Ridge, Cathy was employed by the Sports Exposition Authority of New Jersey at the Meadowlands. After her retirement, she relocated to Pleasantville, where she was employed by Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City until her illness in July of 2007. Cathy was predeceased by her mother, Thelma (Reese) Henderson. Surviving is her father, John H. Henderson. She was the sister of L. Garry Henderson Sr. (Linda), Penny O. Corum (Calvin), and Clipper Henderson (Tezetta); aunt of Corinne Abdus-Sabur (Hassan), C. Kelly Dyer (Christopher), Monique Perry, Wendy Henderson (Christopher Sparks), Kasey Henderson (Shadee Richardson), and Lonnie G. Henderson Jr.; god-sister of Robert Walker Jr., and companion of Albert Hauser. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
