THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Catherine P. Young, 84, widow of Mr. W.A. Young Jr., died Friday, July 19, 2013, in the Lake Crossing Health Care Center. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with the Rev. John Barnes officiating. Mrs. Young was a native of Stapleton, but has lived in Thomson for many years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Thomson First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class. Survivors include her son, David (Tonja) Young, Thomson; her brother, Fred (Betty Jo) Perdue, Thomson; her grandchildren, Rebecca Johnson, Chris Young, Rachel Butler, Rebecca Powers, and her great-grandchildren, Austin Hinton, and Camdyn Butler. The family would like to thank the staff of Lake Crossing Health Care Center for their wonderful care. Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home.
