Walker, Catherine R. (Plotz) HONOLULU Catherine Renee (Plotz) Walker, 38, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at her home in Honolulu. Cathy, as she was known to by many, was born in Albany on July 22, 1976, and was the loving daughter of Douglas and JoAnn (Chapman) Plotz of Latham, who survive her. Cathy graduated from Shaker High School in 1994 and furthered her education at Ricks College in Idaho and Utah State University. She was married to her beloved husband, Michael G. Walker, on May 16, 2003 in Albany. Sgt. Michael Walker is currently serving in the U.S. Army as a medic at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. Cathy was a loving and supportive Army wife and during her husband's enlistment resided in Maryland, Texas, California and Hawaii. Earlier in her life and during her husband's overseas deployments, Cathy worked for Douglas Industrial Company in Watervliet. Cathy was a devout and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she was recognized as an exemplary young women's leader. She loved to dance, listen to music, travel, watch movies, try new restaurants, and serve others. She also loved animals, especially cats. Cathy was loved by many and will be missed by everyone who knew her. In addition to her husband and parents, Cathy is survived by her cherished sisters and brother, Julie M. Plotz, Janice E. (Steve) Priess, Jennifer L. Plotz and Joseph J. Plotz; her niece, Hannah, and her nephew Joshua; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Steve and Nancy Walker; her brother-in-law and sisters-in law, Andrew, Kate and Gwen, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Cathy's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at 9 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 411 Loudon Road, Loudonville. Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend the viewing and visit with Cathy's family on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, from 4 until 7 p.m., at the Bowen & Parker Brothers Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
