BOWLING GREEN ANDERSON CATHERINE SIMMONS, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Greenview Regional Hospital. The Bowling Green native was a homemaker and former clerk for the Hartig and Benzel Jewelry Store. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist of Frankfort, Kentucky, a former member of the Samuel Davis Chapter DAR, past president of the Frankfort Kentucky Garden Club and charter member of the Little Theater of Bowling Green, started by Mrs. Phillip Benzel. She was a daughter of the late James Bennet Simmons and Eunice Cherry Simmons Travis and wife of the late John Thurman Anderson Sr. Survivors include one son, John Thurman Anderson Jr. (Elaine), of Louisville; one daughter, Barbara Kay Hanser (Kenneth), of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren, Sean Frederick Hanser (Linda), of Hercules, CA, Andrew David Hanser (Laura), of Raleigh, NC, Richard Kenneth Hanser of San Diego, CA, John Thurman Anderson III (Kelly), of Louisville, Russell Pryor Anderson (Shannon), of Hilton Head, SC and Katie Anderson Huffstetler (Todd), of Hilton Head, SC; and five great-grandchildren. Cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
