Catherine S. Johnson, 89, Sarasota, died Dec. 24, 2006. She was born April 2, 1917, in Hempstead, N.Y., and came to Sarasota in 1929 from Wantagh, N.Y. She was a homemaker and a volunteer, and was a member of St. Martha's Catholic Church and Selby Gardens. Survivors include daughters Karen E. of Brooklyn, N.Y., Valerie A. of Knoxville, Tenn., and Alida J. Lyons of Sarasota; a son, Eric F. of Tampa. brothers James M. Stone of Silver Springs, Md., and Thomas F. Stone of New York; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. A Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martha's Catholic Church. Burial will be in New York.
