Catherine (Jean) Moore October 12, 1915 - January 2, 2016 Moore, Catherine Jean born on October 12th 1915 in Rimbey, Alberta died on January 2nd 2016 at Broadway Pentecostal Lodge in Vancouver, B.C. Predeceased by her-siblings Eloise (Alex) Allan; John (Mildred) Moore; Hazel (Dick) Legge; Helen (Clark) Robinson; and she leaves behind Colleen (Gordon) Hughes; Bernice (Bryan) Halson; and George (Joyce) Moore. Jean had 18 nieces and nephews whom she treated as if they were her own children. Jean lived a full life as a professional woman, first as a teacher in a one room school house near Rimbey and then for the YWCA in Canada and India. She came to Victoria in the early 1960's as director of the YWCA and later joined B.C. Social Services in Vancouver. She traveled widely. She attended Canadian Memorial United Church, participated in Vancouver Burrard Presbytery and the Vancouver School of Theology (VST) Auxiliary. A memorial service will be held for her on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Canadian Memorial United Church (1825 W 16th Ave, Vancouver (604) 731-3101). Memorial gifts can be made to the Mission and Service Fund, through Canadian Memorial United Church.
