MACK, Catherine Mary Gallagher "Kay" 94, of Englewood, FL, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, with her family at her side. Kay was born Nov. 14, 1914 in Baltimore, MD to Frank and Nellie Gallagher. She moved to Englewood, FL two years ago from St. Petersburg, where she had lived since 1957. She was a member of St. Jude's Cathedral in St. Petersburg and St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Englewood. Kay was a Registered Nurse and worked at the children's unit at Bayfront Medical Hospital, retired from All Children's Hospital and Allergy Associates. Kay enjoyed golf and reading and time with her family. Kay was a die hard baseball fan and followed her beloved Rays since the team formed. After moving to Englewood, she regularly attended the games of the Rays' new farm team, the Charlotte Stone Crabs. Kay is survived by her two daughters, Karen M. Cook and Kerry E. Mack, both of Englewood; six granddaughters; five great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and one great-great-grandson. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Jude's Cathedral Chapel, 5815 Fifth Ave. N, St. Petersburg on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11 am with Father Paul Hervey officiating. You may express your condolences to the family at 2022 Placida Rd., Englewood, FL 34224-5204. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Children's Hospital, 880 Sixth St. S, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. At Kay's request, there was no funeral. There will be a celebration of her life after the Memorial Mass at the home of Jeanette DeYoung in St. Petersburg.
