Passed away at the Cornwall General Hospital on Friday, February 16, 2001 at the age of seventy-three after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Survived by her husband and best friend James Ronald Smith. She will be sadly missed by her children, Deborah (Stan) of Kingston, Ronald (Christine) of Winnipeg and Douglas (Cheryl) of Palm Springs, California, as well as her seven grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, Donald and Veronica MacLeod and brother Donald (Bucko) MacLeod. At Lois's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's St. Mark's United Church, Long Sault on Tuesday, February 27 at 3 p.m. Reverend Janet Evans to officiate. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations to the Kingston Regional Cancer Centre, 25 King Street, Kingston, ON, or to the Palliative Care Unit at the Cornwall General Hospital, 510 2nd Street East, Cornwall, ON, in Lois's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of the Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall. UNFORGOTTEN I know a garden where the lilies gleam, And one who lingers in the sunshine there; She is than white-stoled lily far more fair, And oh, her eyes are heaven-lit with dream.
