TUSCALOOSA Catherine Lanora Seales Ryan, age 83, of Tuscaloosa, died July 27, 2009, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Herb Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her husband, JC Ryan; her parents, Tom and Mary Francis Seales; her sisters, Mattie Lee Montgomery and Annie Lou Wellman; and one brother, Lewis Seales.Survivors include three daughters, Susie Parr (John), Sandy Clarke (Gerry), and Nancy Faile (John); her grandchildren, Ryan (Chip) Propst, Lori Bell (Jason), Alan McPherson (Susan), Brad McPherson (Kelly), Allison Randolph (Rob), Chris Faile (Marie), and Gwynne Woods; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Flora Bell Roberts; and her sisters-in-law, Maxine Clinton and Nell Gilbert.Affectionately known as "Red", she had fond memories of the many years she worked at Louis Wiesel. She was a faithful member of Circlewood Baptist Church for almost 50 years. Her greatest joys in life were her three girls and her grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Ryan Propst, Alan McPherson, Brad McPherson, Rob Randolph, Jason Bell, and Mike Hagler.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Building Fund of Circlewood Baptist Church.
