SMITH, Catherine Heather With saddened hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Catherine Heather Smith (Foy) in Victoria, BC on October 18th, 2012. Heather was born in Renfrew, Ontario on August 17th, 1945 and grew up on the family farm in Admaston Township near Renfrew. After completing high school at Renfrew Collegiate Institute, she entered the Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing from which she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1966. Heather spent much of her nursing career at the Island Lodge Long Term Care Home in Ottawa, after which she moved to Victoria, BC in 2005 to enter retirement. Heather was predeceased by her father Harold Foy, D.F.C., and is survived by her mother Audrey, her brothers Geoffrey and Malcolm, her niece Lesley and her nephew Thomas. A private family gathering for Heather was held in Victoria on October 22nd, followed by cremation.
