Catherine Elizabeth Mary Morrison (Gormek) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Cathie Gormek (nee Morrison) on Friday, February 27, 2009. She died peacefully in her sleep, at home, at the age of 52. Cathie was very joyful and happy about her accomplishments in the last few years of her life, as she learned to soar once again. We are ever grateful to those old and new friends who walked with Cathie as she made a new life for her family. Their kindnesses will never be forgotten. Cathie's children were her biggest love and joy giving her untold happiness. Cathie dedicated her life to them and will love them always as they continue their life paths. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Special hugs to Christine. Cathie was the beloved mother of four beautiful young women - Jennifer, Stephanie, Michelle and Katherine, (predeceased by her infant son John in 1991). She was a devoted daughter and one of her mother's best friends. She was predeceased by her father Francis William Morrison in 1980, and survived by her mother Dorothy Lucienne Morrison. Cathie, the loved and cherished sister and friend of Brenda (Ed), Sharon (George), Cameron (Pauline), and Wendy (Catherine) and Bernice will always be in the hearts of her family. Visitation and service will be at McDOUGALL AND BROWN FUNERAL HOME "SCARBOROUGH CHAPEL", 2900 Kingston Road, Toronto, ON, M1M 1N5, 416-267-4656. VISITATION: Thursday, March 5th from 6-8 p.m. SERVICE: Friday, March 6th at 1 p.m. in the Chapel. A reception celebrating Cathie's life will follow.
