Catharine H. Miller FOXBORO Catharine H. (Hayden) Miller, 95 years of age of Foxboro formerly of Braintree passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Doolittle Home in Foxboro where she had resided for the last 16 years. She was born in Newton July 19, 1913. She was a graduate of Newton High School and subsequently attended Framingham State Teachers College where she studied Home Economics. Prior to her marriage she had worked as a Dental Assistant in Boston. She spent many summers at the family home in Cotuit, Cape Cod where she developed a knowledge and love for animals, flowers, and the seashore. Her relatives in the Hayden family still reside in Cotuit. For many years she attended a camp in Vermont where she enjoyed horseback riding, leatherwork, and archery. Catharine resided in Braintree from 1938 to 1993 and was an active member of All Souls Unitarian-Universalist Church where she belonged to the Womens Alliance. She was a member of the Braintree Garden Club and had been a member of the local bridge club. She had been a volunteer at the Thrift Shop of Emmanuel Parish in Braintree and had also been a volunteer at the Trailside Museum in Milton as well as at the South Shore Hospital. Catharine had a life long love of poetry which she shared in recent years with her fellow residents of the Doolittle Home. Catharine was the wife of the late Everett H. Miller who died in 1988. She is survived by four children; Nancy M. Kimball married to Robert Boyea of Diamond Point, NY, Jean A. Brockelbank married to Larry Brockelbank of Midland, Ontario, Canada, James W. Miller married to Marie Miller of Marshfield Hills and Marilyn I. Miller of Randolph. She is survived by six grandchildren; Wayne D. Kant and Wendy S. Carroll both of Amsterdam, NY, Robyn K. Leib of Midland Ontario, Alexander D. MacDougall of Toronto, Megan E. Miller of Weymouth and Jefferson C. Miller of Boston. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Richard Blais of Midland Ontario, Liam MacDougall and Ella MacDougall both of Toronto. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 11, 2009 at 2:30pm at the Universalist Church, 4 Bird Street Foxboro, Ma. 02035. Relatives and friends are cordially invited. The Burial will be private for family members at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be sent to the Doolittle Home, 16 Bird Street, Foxboro, MA. 02035. Arrangements are by the Mortimer N. Peck- Russell Peck Funeral Home, Braintree.
