Mrs. Carolyn Joyce Lawler Smith, age 84, of Oakwood, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014. She was born on Jan. 11, 1930, Smyrna, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Clyde Raymond and Tressie McClung Lawler.Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and William Douglas Waltman; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Mark and Jane Raper Smith; grandchildren, Craig Michael Smith, Julie and Robert Boley, Brittany and Thomas Cape, Brian Douglas Waltman and Amy Carolyn Waltman; and great-grandchildren, Logan Smith, Garrett Cape, Everly Boley and McKenna Cape.Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Roland Inmann Smith; parents; son, Randy Clyde Smith; brother, Jack Lawler; and sister, Marvine Lawler Wooten.The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Smith will be conducted on Sunday, March 2 at three in the afternoon at Blackshear Place Baptist Church, located in 3428 Atlanta Highway, Flowery Branch, GA 30542, with Dr. Grady Sutton and the Rev. Dave Channell officiating.
