<!-- FH = Parker Funeral Services -->Carolyn Jo AndersonCarolyn Jo Anderson, 60, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in Columbia, Mo. After a two year battle with cancer, Carolyn died peacefully at home surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012 in Missouri United Methodist Church in Columbia, Mo. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Friday in the church. A private burial service will be held in Boonville, Iowa. Carolyn was born March 7, 1951 to Dwight and Dorothy Clayton of Redfield, Iowa. After attending Iowa State University, Carolyn began a 35 year career in dentistry as both an assistant and a front desk manager. Most recently she worked for Dio L. Daily, D.D.S. in Springfield, Mo. and Francis Otradovec, D.D.S. in Columbia, Mo. Her warm greeting and friendly smile will be missed by many. Carolyn was a member in Schweitzer United Methodist Church in Springfield, Mo. before moving to Columbia where she joined Missouri United Methodist Church. In both churches she was active in mission work. She especially had a heart for those less fortunate and tirelessly led the Festival of Sharing ministry for more than 18 years in these congregations. Above all else, Carolyn loved her family. She was a loving and supportive mom and the best Grammy ever. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda (Godwin) Dart and her husband, Scott, and her three treasured grandchildren Alex, Austin and Abby of Columbia. Also surviving are her siblings, Paul (Skip) Clayton (Norma) of Ames, Iowa, Dolores Belden (Jack) of Castle Rock, Colo., Nancy Schietzelt (Randy) of Crystal Lake, Ill. and Jane Schmidt (Craig) of Ankeny, Iowa.
