Mrs. Carolyn Holmes Smith, 50 of Vernon, passed Oct. 8, in the Gulf Coast Medical Center, Panama City. She was a native of Walton Co., of the Holiness Faith, and a Dietician. Survivors include her children, Wendy Smith (Ira) of Grand Ridge, Brennis (Kamaria) Smith and Jeremy (Elxa'Ray) Smith; godson, Andrew Brown all of Vernon; father, John Holmes, Sr. of Ponce De Leon; siblings, John E. (Pamela) Holmes, Jr. of Chipley, Jarvis (Marsha) Holmes of Freeport, Marjorie (Nathan) Gundrum of Freeport, Jerl (Kesha) Holmes of DeFuniak Springs, Jeff (Amy) Holmes of Chipley, and Janice Holmes of Freeport, Florida and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 13, at McQueen's Temple in Vernon, with Pastor, Jr. Bishop J.O. Brown, the Rev. Priscilla Brown, Min. John C. Jackson, and Bro. Eli Andrews, officiating. Interment followed in the St. Luke Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Vernon. Remains were in repose 1one hour prior to services at the church with the Cooper Funeral Home of Chipley, Directing.
