Carolyn Helen Woodworth Williamsof Palmyra, N.Y.Carolyn Helen Woodworth Williams passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2003 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, N.Y., due to complications from recent surgery. Ms. Williams was a respected and beloved teacher, touching the lives of hundreds of children during her 38-year tenure as an educator. She began her career in Whitney Point Central School in Whitney Point, N.Y., teaching sixth grade for 10 years before moving with her family to Newark, N.Y. She taught at the Palmyra-Macedon Elementary School, Palmyra, N.Y., for the remainder of her career, retiring in 1995. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Cortland State College and her Master's Degree from SUNY College at Brockport. Ms. Williams was born in Binghamton, N.Y., and lived in Killawog, N.Y. until 1969. She and her family relocated to Newark, N.Y., and also resided in Pultneyville and Canandaigua. Most recently, she and her husband moved to Milford, Pa. in order to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, James C. Williams; two children, Lizette Williams Macaluso, Larchmont, N.Y., and Christopher K. Williams, Redding, Conn., along with their spouses, Dr. Joseph Macaluso and Isabelle Vita Williams. Ms. Williams was also a devoted grandmother and leaves her grandchildren, Philip and Evan Macaluso and Celeste, Connor and Nicholas Williams. Ms. Williams was predeceased by her son, Matthew James Williams; her mother, Dorothy Wheeler Krum; her father, Charles Byron Woodworth; and her stepfather, Gary Gray Krum.Family and friends are invited to call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McGUIRE/HARGRAVE & MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 123 East Jackson Street, Palmyra, N.Y., where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Upper Lisle Cemetery.
