Carolyn E. Johnson, 61 ORR'S ISLAND - Carolyn E. Johnson, 61, of 74 Back Shore Lane, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005 at Mid Coast Medical Center, Brunswick.She was born in Phoenix, Ariz., Feb. 22, 1944, daughter of Ralph M. and Elizabeth L. Captain. She graduated from John Burroughs School in St. Louis, Mo., and Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass.She married Charles F. Johnson, June 12, 1969 in California. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson moved to New Hampshire in 1987 and to Maine in 2000.Mrs. Johnson was Director of Admissions at High Mowing School, in Wilton, N.H., and also worked as an administrator at Stanford University and Bates College.She enjoyed singing and was a member and served on the board of directors of the Oratorio Chorale and was a director and member of the Friends of Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick.She is survived by her husband of Orr's Island; her mother of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Linda J. Konner and her husband Nicholas of Modesto, Calif.; a son, David A. Johnson of Dracut, Mass., and a sister, Catherine A. Captain of St. Louis, Mo.A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 12 at First Parish Church, Maine Street, Brunswick, with the Rev. Mary Baard officiating.
