Carolyn Ann Hood Valparaiso Carolyn Ann Hood, 69, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2004 at Porter Hospital. She was born March 29, 1935 in Valparaiso, the daughter of Maurice and Frances (Perrill) Ludington. May 3, 1952 she married Floyd Hood in Springfield, TN. Carolyn was employed by Indiana General, Dodrill Plumbing and Boone Grove School System. Her retirement involved traveling and researching genealogy. She was a member of Boone Grove Christian Church. She is survived by children Max L. (Joyce) Hood of DeMotte, Charbeau (Howard) Williams of Ft. Wayne and Denise (Phillip) Hawkins of Valparaiso; six grandchildren Cordell and Chad Hood, Cheryl, Brandon and Mellisa Hawkins, Monica Williams; two sisters, Juanita (Dean) Houpt of Valparaiso and Sandra (Robert) Taylor of Valparaiso; and loving friend Donald Thomas of Tallahasse, FL. Her parents and her husband preceded her in death. She will be deeply missed by all whom had the pleasure of making her acquaintance. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso, IN. Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at 10 AM at Bartholomew Funeral Home with Pastor William Beck officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
