SMITH, Carole Jean Dennis Smith, 83, of New Port Richey, is resting peacefully now with her heavenly father. She passed away Monday, September 1, at home in New Port Richey. Carole was born August 11, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of Willman Francis Dennis and Edith White Dennis. Carole cherished and retained many lifelong friendships she began while attending primary, middle high, and her beloved Mayfield High School, where she graduated in 1949. She briefly attended Bowling Green State University, and the University of Miami, before meeting and marrying the love of her life and husband of 63 years, Charles Floyd Smith. Chuck and Carole raised three children in Miami Florida, where Carole was a church secretary for Olympia Heights United Methodist Church, and South Miami Baptist Church for over 30 years. Carole loved to travel and spent summers enjoying her Cattail Community friends in the mountains of Pensacola, NC. She was also involved in the activities of the Heritage Lake Community, and especially liked playing bocce ball. Most of all she was a devoted friend, active church member/volunteer, wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was greatly loved and admired by all who knew her. Her quick smile, sparkling eyes and caring heart will be sorely missed. She is survived by her husband Chuck, 3 children; Dennis Craig Smith, Susan Gail Smith Perrin, and Paul Charles Smith, grandchildren, Michael Scott Perrin, Charles McWhorter Smith, Daniel Dennis Smith, Robert Floyd Smith, Justin Craig Smith, Matthew Paul Smith, William Dennis Smith, Kimberly Gail Perrin McWilliams and great grandson Rory Shelton McWilliams. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Marilyn Frances Dennis Sander and Susan Kay Dennis Stone. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday September 4th at 11am at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Seven Springs - 4651 Little Road, New Port Richey, FL 34655. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorials be sent to Trinity Presbyterian Church of Seven Springs or HPH Hospice -6807 Rowan Road, New Port Richey, FL 34653.
