WILLIAMS, Carol Gaye July 18, 1936 – July 26, 2014 It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Carol, at Calgary's South Health Campus. She was surrounded by all of her loving family when she went to join Al, her adoring husband of 56 years. Carol was the dear mother of four children, Lisa (Arto), Craig (Linda), Todd (Heather), and Chris (Ashley). She was also the beloved grandmother (Poppi) of Kaitlyn (Mark), Sarah, Braeden, Brooklyn, Slater and Deakon and great-grandmother to her "little man" Maddon. Carol will be fondly remembered in Winnipeg by her two brothers, Jim and Doug, niece Catherine and nephew John and their families along with her great friends. She will be dearly missed by the "girls" in her walking and card clubs of Calgary. Carol was born and raised in Winnipeg where she met Al, the love of her life, got married and had her children, and eventually moved on to Calgary in 1971. While always being an attentive mother, Carol enjoyed a rewarding career as a gemologist at Birks Jewelry. Our sweet mother was the beating heart of every family event and always an inspiration to all. We will miss her zest for life, sense of humour, and her bright smile that always lit up the room. She showed us the meaning of unselfishness and devotion to family. The family wishes to thank the remarkable staff at the South Health Campus, as well as Dr. Deirdre Jenkins at Foothills Hematology. A Celebration of Carol's Life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate) Calgary, on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation made to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
