OWENS Carol Michaelsen Owens, age 59, of Fairfield, died on Saturday, August 21, 2004, following a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side. Born on June 8, 1945, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Fritze Michaelsen of Old Greenwich, and New York City. Mrs Owens was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Owens; loving mother of Victoria Owens of San Francisco, Fritz Owens and Edward Owens, both of New York City; and was the devoted sister, of John E. Michaelsen of La Jolla, Calif., and Linda M. Sugzda of Old Greenwich. Mrs. Owens was retired from the travel business, in which she worked for 35 years. She attended Greenwich Academy, Arcadia University in Pennsylvania and Alliance Francaise, Paris. She was an avid golfer and traveler, she will be remembered for her kind nature, warm humor, strong spirit and devotion to her family. Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Robert M. Owens Scholarship Fund, c/o Fairfield University.
