CARTTER, Carol Mary, 88, was called to the Lord July 31, 2014. She was born in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, March 25, 1926, to Mary Ahlei DeVries and Arnold DeVries. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bruce Lanpher Cartter, Jr. Carol attended the University of Wisconsin and was a housewife. She did some office work in her later years at Bond Auto Sales in Tampa. She was involved in a number of organizations but her favorite was Beta Sigma Phi. She pledged the social, cultural, and service organization in May 1972 and although she was most recently a member at large, she was a lifetime member and had attained the Master Degree. She was the Laureate Woman of the Year in 1993-94 for Tampa. She attended as many sorority council meetings as she could and was known as the chief "Sergeant at Arms." Bruce and Carol faithfully worked the stadium as ticket takers for many years, attended daily mass at Christ the King church and sang in the choir, and also enjoyed going dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 South Dale Mabry Hwy.
