Smith, Carol Lombardo MENANDS Carol Lombardo Smith entered into eternal life Monday, May 11, 2009 at home. Carol is the adored daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Klein) Lombardo and beloved daughter-in-law of the late James and Elizabeth Smith. Carol is survived by her loving husband and high school sweetheart of 41 years, James Thomas Smith Jr.; her cherished and adored son, James Joseph; her loving sisters, Joney Vellano (Paul) and Fran Marini (Rich); sisters-in-law, Sheila Bouck (Michael) and Barbara Huerter (Don); nieces, Elizabeth, Shannon and Lisa; nephews, Paul, Christopher, Joseph, Michael and Don. Carol is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Carol was born and raised in Albany, N.Y., and earned her bachelor's and master's degree from Russell Sage College. Carol taught in the Albany City School District and was an associate of the family business, Albany Ship Supply. Carol always put others first and had that heartfelt way to make people feel special. She leaves behind a wealth of memories of her constant strength and support to family and friends. Words cannot express how much she is loved and missed. Her family was the center of her life. Funeral services will be held in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, 8 Dudley Heights (Northern Blvd.), Albany, Friday afternoon at 1:30 and 2 o'clock at the Church of St. Pius X, Loudonville where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Entombment, St. Agnes Mausoleum, Menands. Those wishing to remember Carol in a special way may send a memorial contribution to St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
