Carol Jean Alexander, 66, of Rutland and formerly of Proctor, died June 22, 2011, at The Pines at Rutland, following a long illness.She was born Feb. 5, 1945, in Rutland, the daughter of Harold and Ruth (Pickett) Alexander, and grew up in Pittsford.Ms. Alexander was a member of the Methodist Church and enjoyed playing bingo.Survivors include four siblings, Ronald of Wallingford, Ruth, Richard and Robert Alexander, all of Mount Tabor; and several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by two sisters, Pat Keache and Thelma Capman, and three brothers, Gordon, Harold and Francis Alexander.The graveside service will be held at a later date in Danby-Scottsville Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, in care of Rutland Health Foundation, 433 West St., Rutland, VT 05701; or Rutland Mental Health Services, Rutland Community Programs, PO Box 222, Rutland, VT 05702.Private condolences can be made through www.aldousfuneralhome.com.
