SORRENTO - Carol Bernice Young Smith, 67, went home to be with the Lord Nov. 23, 2010, in Bangor. She was born June 11, 1943, daughter of Arthur and Phyllis (Welsh) Young. She was a very busy stay-at-home mom and foster mom to more than 16 children. She was a crafter known as the "Pot Holder Lady." Carol was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, and past member of Eastern Star where she was mother of the year. She is survived by daughter, Teresa Andrews and husband, John, of Sorrento; sons, William Smith and Michael Smith; grandchildren, Robert Smith, Caitlyn and Michael Smith, and Ashley Andrews; and great-grandchild, Dylan Robert Smith. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Raymond Young; sister, Joan Fijalkowski; and grandson, William Smith. Contributions in Carol's memory may be made to Acadia Christian School, P.O.
