February 23, 2005 Carl M. Mitchell, 81, of Bridgeport, passed away Wednesday at the Jewish Home. Born in Dexter, NY, Carl lived in the Bridgeport area for many years. He was an Army veteran of WW II. He retired from Carrier Corp in 1982 as a su-pervisor after 30 years of employment. He belonged to many hunting and rod & gun clubs throughout the area, and was a NRA member. Carl was a volunteer fireman with Dexter, Brownville and Bridgeport Fire Departments. He was a life-member of the Simon Parise VFW Post #9596. Carl bowled on the Carrier men's and mixed bowling leagues. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary in 1999. Survivors: daughters, Beth A. (Janos Jr.) Dominics of Kirkville, Cynthia A. (Jeff) Hallock of Weedsport; sons, Jeffrey A. (Tammy) Mitchell of Canastota, Dale C. (Nancy) Mitchell of Minoa and Mark B. (Joan) Mitchell of Minoa; brothers, Clarence and Vernon Mitchell both of Dexter; sister, Dorothy Rosier of SC; 13 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, many nieces and nephews. Services: 4 p.m. Saturday at Traub Funeral Home, 7975 Route 31, Bridgeport. Calling hours 1 to 4 p.m. prior to the service. Spring burial with military honors at Pine Plains Cemetery, Kirkville.
