Myers, FL passed on to be with her Lord and savior on Saturday, August 25, 2012. She was born on July 15, 1918 in Williston, FL; the beautiful daughter of Mary Lucille (McCabe) and Grover Cleveland Finger, Sr. Connie was a Fort Myers High School graduate then a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, NC. She then joined the service and became a WASP and flew planes and servicemen across the country. She married Enoch H. Walker and traveled while in the service and she taught school. They eventually settled in Key West where they raised their family and were very active in the community. Enoch passed away in 1984 and Connie returned to Fort Myers where she resided till her passing.She leaves behind her family: sister, Lillian Waite Hamilton of Ft. Myers, FL; daughter Rita (George) Fuchs of Naples, FL; daughter, Sue Ellen Spencer of Key West, FL; grandchildren: Lillian Ann Spurlin of CO, Frank (Wendy) Jordan of CA, Glenn Spencer of Key West, FL; great grandchildren: Katie Spurlin, Ryan Spurlin and Melinda Thompson of CO and Ashlynn Jordan of CA; many extended family members throughout FL and most importantly her church family at First Baptist Church of Ft. Myers.A memorial reception and coffee with the family will be held on Sat., Sept 1, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Life Center at First Baptist Church, 1735 Jackson St. (corner of Second Ave.) Ft. Myers, FL 33901. Funeral services will be celebrated thereafter in the church at 11:00 AM with burial immediately following in the Garden of Memories at Ft. Myers Cemetery, 3200 Michigan Ave., Ft. Myers, where she will be laid to rest next to her parents G.C. and Mary Finger.The family would like to thank Hope Hospice for their help during this very special time.
