AUGUSTA, Ga. - Funeral Services for Pastor Clifford Williams, will have two public viewings Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from Noon - 4:00 p.m. at Mays Mortuary - 1221 James Brown Blvd. in Augusta, GA and from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Carey Hill Resource & Conference Center - 1591 Edgefield Rd. in North Augusta, SC. Home Going Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Beulah Grove Baptist Church - 1434 Poplar St. in Augusta, GA. Interment will follow in the Westover Memorial Park. (All Pastors/Ministers are encouraged by the family to wear robes) A. A. Dicks Funeral Home-Sullivan Chapel in Columbia, SC is in charge of these arrangements. Reverend Clifford Williams was born to the late Deacon George E. and Deaconess Louise Johnson Williams on September 5, 1962. He departed this life Thursday, August 29, 2013. Clifford was a 1980 graduate of Williston-Elko High School in Williston, SC and he attended seminary at Luther Rice College. He worked at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC. Pastor Williams was a lifetime member of the NAACP and was past Assistant State Advisor for the SC NAACP Youth and College Division. He was also the Convener for the Georgia/Carolina Rainbow Push Coalition. At a young age he joined the Summer Grove Missionary Baptist Church in White Pond, SC where he was called to preach the Gospel. He was licensed as a minister in 1991 and was ordained in 1992. Later he joined Mt. Anna Baptist Church in Aiken, SC until he was led to Beulah Grove Baptist Church in Augusta, SC to further understand the gift of a working ministry. His first pastorate begin at the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Springfield, SC and for the past twenty two years he has given himself to Pastoral Leadership. 1991-1993 he was the Assistant Pastor of Carey Hill Baptist Church in Clarks Hill, SC and in January 1993, he was elected its Pastor. His undying love for Carey Hill was evidenced in his hard work. His goal was to help people see God and live with the love of God in their hearts; to ultimately fulfill God's purpose. Reverend Williams was not only the Pastor, he was the counselor, wedding director, floral designer, caterer, event planner and author. He had a heart for the people. May 23, 1992, Clifford was joined in Holy matrimony to the late Susie Arlethea Trammell. This union was blessed with three children; Cameron Steven, Carrington Spencer and Carlita Suzanne. Pastor Clifford Williams leaves memories to be cherished by his beloved children; Cameron, Carrington, Carlita and JaQues all of Augusta, GA; his loving mother, Louise Johnson Williams of Williston, SC; a dedicated and devoted sister, Kathy (Joseph) Jackson of Graniteville, SC; a supportive brother, Lewis Johnson of Williston, SC; his nephew, the one who stole his heart, Kyle Joseph (Monkey Butt) Jackson also of Graniteville, SC; his mother-in-law, Annie Ruth Trammell of Augusta, GA; two sisters-in-law; Shirri Trammell and Sherri (Wesley) Johnson all of Augusta, GA; four brothers-in-law; Kerry (Jackie) of Evans, GA, Torence (Joyce) of Martinez, GA, Frank and Edwin Trammell both of Augusta, GA; four aunts; Inez (William) Lane of Magnola, NC, Bessie Williams of Atlanta, GA, Elizabeth (Fred) Dicks of Williston, SC and Anita Johnson of New York; an uncle; Lonnie (Rosa Lee) Johnson of Aiken, SC; a great aunt; Geneva Armstrong of Williston, SC and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, church family and friends.
