CHARLOTTE MAE HOLMES SOUTH BURLINGTON - Charlotte Mae Holmes of South Burlington passed away on Sept. 8, 2010 in Fletcher Allen Health Care of Burlington at the age of 82. Charlotte was born in Montpelier on Oct. 4, 1927 to Merton Holmes and Agnes (Robinson) Holmes, who predeceased her. Charlotte attended American International College in Springfield, Mass. for two years and then graduated from a secretarial college in Boston, Mass. Charlotte retired from IBM after almost 30 years of employment as a secretary. She and her mother lived on Abanaki Ave. in Essex Junction for many years. She is survived by her sister, Carmeta Wallace of Louisville, Colo.; by three nephews, Steve Wallace of Black Forest, Colo., John Wallace and wife, Caryl Ricca, of Boulder, Colo., and Scott Wallace of Denver, Colo.; and by an aunt, Helen Willard of Charleston, N.H. Charlotte is also survived by several cousins throughout the states, who include Susan White of Belfast, ME, Paul Rogers of Georgia, and Bruce Knutson of Richford; as well as many friends, who include Edith Roeder of Orono, ME, Betty and David Blatt of Milton, Beverley McIntyre of Westport, N.Y., and Patricia and Robert Nowak of South Burlington. The burial of Charlotte's cremated remains will be at Hope Cemetery, Winooski St.,Waterbury, on Oct. 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. Condolences may be sent to Carmeta Wallace, c/o John Wallace, 870 McIntire St., Boulder, CO 80303.
