CATHERINE A. CRAIG, R.N. October 4, 1975 - September 12, 2014 At St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, Cathy died peacefully at approximately 2 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2014. Cathy is survived by her twin girls Sydney and Mackenzie Prosser-Craig, age 7, her fiancée Wendy Haasen, her mother and father Jane (Ouchterlony) and James Craig, her brother Gordon Craig, their extended families, and her former spouse Gail Prosser. Cathy was born October 4, 1975 at Women's College Hospital in Toronto. She is predeceased by her grandparents Catherine (Kay) Ouchterlony (née Grubbe) and David Ouchterlony and her niece Charlotte (Gordon and Daphne Craig). Cathy is a graduate of North Toronto Collegiate Institute where she was an avid participant in athletics and music. Cathy was a founding member and trumpeter in the band Gypsy Soul (later renamed Gypsy Sõl). In June 2006 Cathy graduated from the nursing program at Ryerson University (BScN) and was active as a Registered Nurse. The majority of her career was spent working in the Emergency Department of St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. Her closest friends and family were at her side during the final weeks of her struggle with stage 4 breast cancer. Cathy's family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to her core group of committed and loving friends. They have given their time and energy selflessly, generously and without condition to Cathy and her girls. A funeral service will be held at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, 230 St. Clair Ave. W., at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 19th. A reception will follow. A private interment will occur at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cathy's memory to the Max and Beatrice Wolfe Centre for Children's Grief and Palliative Care (a division of the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care, at www.tlcpc.org).
