CAROLYN SIMPSON, 71 LAKELAND - Carolyn Simpson, 71, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, as a result of respiratory failure. Ms. Simpson was born April 7, 1943 in Dexter, MO. She moved to Lakeland in the early 1990s from Ohio. She was employed as a housekeeper. She was a very active member of Highland Baptist Church where she served in the choir and the ensemble. Ms. Simpson is survived by her son, Wesley Martin and his wife, Jill; daughters, Leslie Colussi and her husband, Dan, Laneah Cockrell and her husband, Clarence and Lisa Bradford and her husband, Brent; mother, Erma Sue Simpson; sister, Janit Kreher and her husband, Tom; niece, Shauna Kreher; 9 grandchildren; and her beloved church family. A celebration of Ms. Simpson's life will be conducted Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Highland Baptist Church at 4210 Lakeland Highlands Road in Lakeland.
