SMITH, CAROLYN SCHERMERHORN Smith, Carolyn Schermerhorn, age 76 of Oneonta, AL went home to be with the Lord on June 28, 2013. She was preceded in death by son, William C. Smith, Jr.; Parents, William J. Schermerhorn and Eleanor Fletcher Schermerhorn. Carolyn is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, William C. "Bill" Smith; children, Karen Smith (Michael) Glass and Connie Lynne Smith; grandchildren, Hayley Smith (Andrew) Douglas, Beth Clayton, Andrew Glass, Evelyn Glass and Mary Beth Glass. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 10 AM until service time at 11:30 AM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. Carolyn enjoyed many activities with close friends, whom she loved very much. Her love of family lead to an interest in genealogy which culminated in her publishing a book entitled, The Wood Family History 1753-2001, Descendants of Obadiah Wood, the Alabama Branch. She was also involved with the Wood Family Cemetery in Woodlawn where she will be laid to rest near her beloved son.
