CAROL A. MITCHELL (NEE TETARCHIK) VALPARAISO, IN Carol A. Mitchell (nee Tetarchik), age 73 of Valparaiso, passed away November 7, 2014. She was a 1959 graduate of Edison High School and obtained her bachelor's degree in education from Indiana University. Carol volunteered her time as a child advocate. She enjoyed spending her time with her family, cooking, and going to the beach. Carol was a job placement coordinator at Indiana WorkOne in Portage. She was preceded in death by her son, Nicholas Popoff. Carol is survived by her daughters: Janette Fadell (Christopher) McQuillin and Julie Popov (Eric) Rogalski; her former husband, John Popov; grandchildren: Nicole Guernsey, Natalie Fadell, Jonathan Noonan, and Megan McQuillin; sister, Kathy Arch; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may visit with Carol's family from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN.
