MITCHELL, CAROL B. Carol Baxter Mitchell, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away on January 26, 2011. She was born on January 13, 1935 to Warren M. and Bertha B. Baxter in Providence, Rhode Island. She is survived by her devoted husband James W. Mitchell of Gainesville; brother, Phillip A. Baxter of California; daughters, Pamela Smith of California, Dr. Nancy M. Worthington of Gainesville; son, Stephen Mitchell of Gainesville. Carol was the beloved and adored grandmother to Katy Sceney and Erin Conley of California, James and Jennifer Worthington of Gainesville and Emily, Megan and Jillian Mitchell all of Gainesville. Elle and Isla Sceney and Ryan Conley were her loving great-grandchildren. Carol was a gracious lady. She cultivated many friendships and was a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed traveling the world with her family and was an avid tennis player. A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 3:00pm at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street.
