Bridget (Betty) Connolly, nee Gethins, 77, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at home in Bloomfield. Born in Bunnanadden, Ireland she lived in Bloomfield for over 50 years. She worked as a purchasing agent for the library at Hoffman La Roche in Nutley for many years. She was the wife of Vincent P. Connolly for 50 years; mother of Brenda Downey and her husband John, William and his wife Janine and Brian and his companion Maureen and grandmother of six. She was the sister of Kathleen Kilgannon of Ireland and Nancy Stein of Toms River and also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Catherine and Thomas Gethins and siblings Thomas, Patrick, John, James, Margaret, Maureen, Philomena, Brendan, and Francis. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1 at O'Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad St. in Bloomfield, oboylefuneralhome.com. Service will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2 at O'Boyle Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2 at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 60 Byrd Ave. in Bloomfield. Burial ceremony will be held on Friday, Nov. 2 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave. in East Hanover.
