Brenda Louise Williams, 57, died Friday, May 11, at home with her family by her side while under the care of hospice. A native of Kershaw County, S.C., she was born to the late Virginia and Realous Humphries on April 17, 1950. She lived in Liberty County for the past 12 years having moved from South Carolina. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, an avid gardner, and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Kelly. Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Max Williams of Midway; sons Justin and David Williams of Midway; a sister, Susan Slaughter of Glennville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Chapel of the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Hinesville Cemetery. Paulbearers are Eddie Branan, Trip Slaughter, Billy Horton, Jake Cahoon, Dusty Henderson and Bubba Waters. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Braun and Jacob Green. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be given to Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund. Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
