Brenda Louise Mansbridge Very gently with dignity, courage and style, Brenda Mansbridge died in London, Ontario, on April 4, 2008 in her 85th year. Brenda Louise was born in Liverpool, England, the second daughter of Major Samuel and Mrs. Ada Harris-Jones. She was the wife of 62 years of Wing Commander (RAF) Stanley H. Mansbridge, D.F.C. (2005). Mrs. Mansbridge was the cherished mother of Wendy, Peter and Paul and mother-in-law of Douglas Gunn, Cynthia Dale and Susan Mansbridge. To her final days, Brenda was actively following everything from domestic and international politics to tennis, golf and the latest in spring fashion. She was a passionate devotee and lifelong admirer of classical music. Nana staggered us constantly with her encyclopedic range of knowledge and ability to pose challenging questions to her grandchildren; Jennifer Mansbridge (Jordan), Lisa Gunn, David Gunn (Joy), Pamela Mansbridge (Cameron), Andrew Gunn (Heather), Wendy Mansbridge, Christopher Mansbridge, Thomas Mansbridge and William Mansbridge. She was amazed and proud to be the great-grandmother of five beautiful little girls, Alexandra, Honor, Hope, Emma and Clara. Brenda is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Jamieson, Mississauga, Ontario, and Margaret Sadler (Geoffrey), Burton-on-the-Wolds, England; and several nieces and nephews. A private service will be held in St. Thomas, Ontario. This will be followed by a service of dedication in late spring. Arrangements through Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas, Ontario. Donations may be made to The Old St. Thomas Church (1824) Restoration Fund or The Elgin Military Museum.
