May 9, 2009 Brenda Joyce Williams, 65, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, May 9, at University Hospital after a long illness. Brenda was born August 21, 1943, in Gloucester, LA, to Curtis and Velma Adams. She moved to Joplin, MO, as a child and lived there most of her life. She was an LPN for almost 30 years and at age 50 went back to school to become an RN. She loved serving her patients. She was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center for 11 years. She was predeceased by her parents and one son, Mark. Survivors include a son, Howard (Jane) Williams of San Antonio; a daughter, Gina (Daniel) Ogden of Syracuse; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Abundant Life Christian Center, 7000 All Nations Blvd., East Syracuse. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. Burial will be private.
