SMITH, BRENDA A. 70Ocala - Brenda A. Smith, age 70, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009 surrounded by her loving husband, family and her loved poodle Coco, after a long heroic battle with pancreatic cancer. Brenda was born in Quincy, MA to Frances and the late Wesley Kyller. She graduated from Quincy schools and worked with her husband in their insurance business for over 30 years. Her husband, Frederick, and six children survive Brenda. Daughters, Kerin and husband William Hughes of Lake Wylie, SC, Cathy Jean Smith of Jacksonville, FL; sons, Fred Smith of Greensboro, NC, Bradley Smith of Concord, NC, Gary T. Smith of St. John, the USVI, and Jeffery and wife Mary Smith of Virginia Beach, VA. Brenda is also survived by a brother James, sisters Linda and Sandy, aunts Anne Campitelli and Lillian Barrett along with eight grandchildren: Daniel, Cassandra, Ben, Alex, Dylan, Nathan, Emily and Jack. Brenda was deeply loved by many and brought joy to all those who knew her. She was an active member of Countryside Presbyterian Church, Naomi Circle, The Ocala Royal Dames, OTOW Ladies Golf, and long-time ALANON member. Her beloved husband and family will sorely miss Brenda. She and Fred enjoyed a wonderful life, always together - in Boston, VT, and Ocala, FL. Visitation for Brenda A. Smith will be Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM and from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 S.W. 110th St., Ocala, FL. Funeral service will be Friday, May 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Countryside Presbyterian Church, 7768 S.W. Hwy. 200, Ocala, with Pastor Gary Marshall officiating.
