Bobby Gerald Williams, 71, husband of Vivian Ivester Williams, of 7 Foxcroft Road, died Feb. 4, 2001. Born in Honea Path, he was a son of Alec Calvin Williams of Honea Path and the late Maymie Louise Johnston Williams. Mr. Williams was a retired self-employed food broker and former owner of Dixie Brokerage and All American Brokerage. He was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church and the Frank Fitzgerald Sunday School Class and was a former Yokeperson. He was a board member of Senior Action and a member of the Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Tri-County Senior Golf Association, Foothills Senior Golf Association, American Food Brokers Association and National Food Brokers Association and had won numerous Food Broker of the Year Awards, including Man of the Century in 1981. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Surviving in addition to his wife and father are a daughter, Anne Williams Thayer and her husband, Dr. Mark Wayne Thayer, of Anderson; and three grandchildren, Brenn Crawford Thayer, Mark Johnston Thayer, and Jordan Stephen Thayer. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Manley Williams. Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Taylors First Baptist Church, with Drs. Ernest Carswell and Frank S. Page officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive; and will also receive friends today from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Gathering Space at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Moon, Frank Chibbaro, Bill Richey, Fred Radebaugh, Jim Harkness, and Charles Jones. Honorary Escort will be Matt Herndon, Gene Mathis, Russell Tillery, and Tom Zeimetz. Memorials may be made to Taylors First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 6, Taylors, SC 29687. The family is at the home.
